The Yoyo Factory 888x yo-yo is not a toy, and is suited for the advanced or expert level players. The yoyo player must be able to perform a "bind" to use this low-response yoyo, which can be very difficult for beginners to master. A bind is when you wind string into the gap of a yoyo that is spinning, and force it to grab the string so it comes back up toward your hand.
The 888x yo yo is made with the same expert precision as the rest of the 888 family. It has a soft bead blasted finish that provides a very shiny, sharp look. This finish also helps the 888x produce some amazingly long and smooth grinds. The 888x yoyo has a wing shape, and the outer rim is a little thinner than the previous classical ancestors of this model. This also helps players produce better thumb grinds. The model is a little smaller than traditional metal yoyos, which makes it easier to perform some technical tricks with greater efficiency.
